Marc Jacobs style eye-con no. 7 palette "The Starlet": review e swatches

Qualche giorno fa ho deciso di approfittare dello sconto del 20% da Sephora per acquistare un prodotto che desidero da qualche tempo, la Lollitint di Benefit. Con mia grande sorpresa però, non appena entrata nel punto vendita di Genova, mi accorgo che gli stand dei vari marchi hanno cambiato postazione e questo perché è stato aggiunto quello di Marc Jacobs. Mai e poi mai avrei creduto che un marchio appena uscito in Italia arrivasse così presto anche nella mia città (Nars ancora non è presente, e per la Urban Decay ho dovuto aspettare qualche mese). La commessa molto gentile mi ha presentato qualche prodotto e, non appena ho visto questa palette ho dimenticato la tanto desiderata Lollitint. 

A couple of days ago, I decided to take advantage of a 20% discount at Sephora to purchase a product I really wanted, the Benefit Lollitint. However, much to my surprise, once I entered the store in Genoa I noticed that all the brands had changed their designated positions beacause of a new entry: the Marc Jacobs beauty line. I had never thought that I could find a new brabnd so soon in my town (Nars is still not present, and I had to wait a few months after Urban Decay reached Italy to see it in the store). The salesgirl was so kind to show me a couple of products and, as soon as I saw this palette, I totally forgot about my beloved Lollitint.

DESCRIZIONE DEL PRODOTTO:

Style eye-con no. 7 di Marc Jacobs è una palette sottile ed elegante, contenente sette ombretti che si sposano perfettamente per creare un finish chic e vellutato. 

Le diverse armonie di colori accostano tonalità metallizzate scintillanti, mat cremose e perlate iridescenti. Risultato sofisticato a lunga durata. Marc ti invita a sbizzarrirti e a trasformarti nella tua propria Eye-Con di moda.

This super skinny and travel friendly design creates a surprisingly special compact. These seven harmonized shadows will rapidly become your "eye fashion" staples. "THE STARLET"

Questa stupenda palette esiste in 4 varianti: "The Tease" a predominanza viola, "The Lolita" dai colori nude, "The Vamp" con viola, blu e verdi, ed infine quella che ho scelto io "The Starlet". Descriverei questa variante come una palette nude ma un pochino più audace perché invece dei soliti marroncini presenta dei rosa, glicine, rame, oro giallo e silver. A seguire le foto e gli swatches dei singoli ombretti.

This wonderful palette comes in 4 shades: "The Tease" (based on purples), "The Lolita" (definitely a nude palette), "The Vamp" (which contains purples, blues and greens), and finally the one I chose, "The Starlet". I would describe it as a bolder nude palette with pink, mauve, copper, gold and silver instead of the repetitive old browns. Let's now see the eyeshadows more in detail.

N° 1: un malva taupe shimmer (shimmery taupey mauve)

N° 2: rosa nude glitterato (frosted nude pink)

 

N° 3: marrone scuro cioccolato shimmer (shimmery dark chocolate brown)

 

N°4: rame metallizzato (metallic copper)

 

N° 5: giallo oro metallizzato (metallic yellow gold)

 

N° 6: argento chiaro metallizzato (light metallic silver)

 

N° 7: grigio taupe scuro shimmer (shimmery dark taupey grey)

 


Premetto che le foto non rendono molto, ancora non ho avuto l'occasione di acquistare la nuova macchina fotografica. Comunque tutti gli ombretti hanno una texture morbida e quasi cremosa ed un'altissima pigmentazione. A livello di pigmentazione superano anche quelli imbattibili di Urban Decay anche se questi ultimi sono i migliori a livello di tenuta. Infatti proprio per la texture supercremosa questi ombretti tendono leggermente ad andare nelle pieghe, anche se è un effetto lieve e che si presenta solo dopo parecchie ore. Inoltre questa è una palette molto versatile che permette di creare moltissimi look differente. Il prezzo della palette è di 53,50 euro, che non sono pochi, ma di certo sono soldi spesi bene. Ora passiamo ai voti:

Pictures don't do justice to reality, since I still hadn't the chance to buy a new camera. Anyway, all the eyeshadows of the palette have a soft and buttery texture, almost creamy and an excellent pigmentation. Concerning pigmentation, they are a little bit better than the UD eyeshadows, even if UD is still the best concerning longevity. Indeed the supercreamy texture makes them crease a little bit, but this effect is not very noticeable and appears only after a few hours. Moreover, this palette is very versatile and it allows to create many different looks. It retails for 53.50 euros, which is pricey but surely it isn't a waste of money. Now time for the overall evaluation:

Naarei bio makeup: natural beauty

Eccomi finalmente con il primo post con cui riapro a tutti gli effetti il blog; questo post nasce in collaborazione con la Farmacia Falqui e con una linea di makeup che oltre ad utilizzare 100% ingredienti di origine naturale di cui il 10% da agricoltura biologica, è anche solidale con associazioni tra cui l'ONLUS (e ovviamente non testa sugli animali). Tutti i prodotti che offre sono dermatologicamente testati, privi di glutine e 100% italiani. La loro attenzione per i materiale e l'ambiente è tale da non inserire gli specchietti nelle confezioni, poiché non riciclabili.
Per fornirvi una panoramica del marchio vi parlerò oggi di 4 prodotti che ho avuto modo di testare e utilizzare: il fondotinta anti-age, l'eyeliner, un rossetto e una matita labbra.


Here I am back again with the first blog post since the reopening; for this blog post I collaborated with Farmacia Falqui and with a makeup brand which exploits 100% natural ingredients (whereof 10% derived from biological agriculture) and which supports associations such as ONLUS. All the products of this brand are dermatologically tested, gluten free and 100% of Italian origin (obviously the ìy don't test on animals). The brand cares so much about materials and environment to decide to not include the mirror in the packaging (since it's not recyclable).
To give you an idea of this brand I'm reviewing 4 products I had the chance to test: an anti-age foundation, an eyeliner, a lipstick and a lip pencil. 

PURE NATURAL LIPSTICK

Il primo prodotto di cui vi parlo è anche il mio preferito, ovvero il rossetto, che alla linea pure natural lipstick. E' un rossetto ricco di oli naturali e per questo molto idratante, luminoso e dalla coprenza modulabile (ma comunque non coprentissimo). Il mio colore è lo 012, un rosa malva molto naturale.

The first product I'm going to review is the lipstick, my favourite one. It is rich in natural oils which make it so moisturizing and shiny. The coverage can be modulated, but it's never high. The colour I own is 012, a very natural mauve pink.

Mi piace l'effetto naturale che lascia sulle labbra, la texture è cremosa e la durata è media. Il prezzo di questo rossetto è di 19 euro, non proprio basso ma sicuramente ne vale la pena se si considerano gli ingredienti e la qualità. Ma passiamo ai voti:

Il like the natural effect it gives; the texture i so creamy and it is medium lasting. The price for this lipstick is 19 euros, not cheap but quality and ingredients worth the price. Now time for grade:

PURE NATURAL LIPLINER

Passiamo ora al secondo prodotto labbra, la matita. E' formulata con olio di mandorle e di sesamo per prevenire l'invecchiamento cutaneo e proteggere le labbra con un'azione calmante. Essendo molto morbida, io la utilizzo al posto del rossetto, stendendola su tutte le labbra. La tonalità che possiedo io è la 207, un marrone scuro vinaccia.

Now time for the second lip product, the pure natural lipliner. It contains almond oli and sesame oil, which help to prevent skin aging and protect the lips with a lenitive action. Being very soft, I used it as a lipstick, all over my lips. I own the shade 207, a dark and red-purple brown.

Mi piace moltissimo questa matita, dura molto e non secca le labbra. Il colore dal vivo risulta un po più scuro e "meno portabile", ma con un trucco occhi leggero l'effetto è molto carino. Il prezzo è di 12 euro.

Il like this lipliner so much; it is long lasting and it doesn't dry the lips. The colour is a little bit darker than the picture and little bit less natural, but it matches well with a soft eye makeup. The price for this product is 12 euros.

PURE NATURAL EYELINER

Passiamo ora agli occhi. L'unico prodotto che ho avuto modo di testare è il pure natural eyeliner e devo dire che mi ha stupita in positivo. Il nero è molto intenso, il tratto preciso ed è di facile stesura. La durata anche è ottima e non si screpola.

Time for the eyes. The only product I had the chance to test is the pure natural eyeliner, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. The black is so intense, the felt tip is precise and it applies easily. It last very long and it doesn't crease.

Nella seconda foto potete vedere il tratto appena applicato (quello in alto) e subito sotto l'applicazione dopo qualche minuto. Il colore rimane intenso ma perde un po' quell'effetto laccato. Il prezzo è di 19 euro, e li vale tutti.

In the second picture you can see the result when just applied (upper line) and after a few minutes. The colour stays strong but it looses that laque effect. The price is 19 euros and it worths it.

PURE NATURAL ANTI-AGING FOUNDATION

L'ultimo prodotto che ho testato è il fondotinta ad azione antietà. L'azione antietà è data dalla grande presenza di oli che però poco si adattano alle pelli più grasse come la mia. L'azione principale di questo fondotinta infatti è quella dell'idratazione, oltre che puntare alla luminosità e ad un aspetto sano. Mi è stato fornito un campioncino con tre tonalità: la 002 (chiara e rosata), la 004 (un beige medio) e la 006 (la tonalità piu scura di tutte). In totale le tonalità in vendita sono 6.

The last product I tested is the anti-aging foundation. The anti-aging action is given by the high presence of oils, which are not ideal for oily skins like mine. The main aim of this foundation is hydratation, together with radiancy and a healhty skin. I have a sample containing three shades: 002 (linght and rosy), 004 (medium beige) and 006 (the darkest one). The foundation is sold a total of 6 shades. 

Tra tutti questo è l'unico prodotto che non mi è piaciuto molto. Io amo i fondotinta leggeri mentre questo è una consistenza un po' troppo "spessa" per i miei gusti. Sicuramente è adatto per le pelli più secche e che necessitano di una maggiore coprenza. Sulla mia pelle l'effetto non è naturale, alla luce del sole si vede che indosso il fondotinta ed è un effetto che non amo molto. il prezzo è di 30 euro.

Of all the products I tested this is the only one I don't really like. I prefer light foundation and the consistency of this one is too heavy for by tastes. it is surely more recommended for dry skins which need a higher coverage. On my skin the effect is not natural at all especially under the sunlight where you can definitely tell I'm wearing something. The price is 30 euros.

CONSIDERAZIONI GENERALI SUL MARCHIO 

GENERAL EVALUATION OF THE BRAND 

Non conoscevo questo marchio e posso dire che, per quello che ho potuto testare, è stato una piacevole scoperta. Il prezzi non sono bassissimi ma bisogna considerare che è molto più complesso creare dei prodotti di qualità, che durino e con una buona pigmentazione, senza l'aggiunta di elementi chimici. Sicuramente è un marchio che non sono ci rende più belle ma è attento anche alla salute della pelle e, non meno importante, a quella dell'ambiente. Il packaging, pur essendo del tutto riciclabile, è molto curato e femminile. La reperibilità dei prodotti è piuttosto buona, lo trovate nelle farmacie.

I didn't know this brand before and I can say I'm pretty impressed by the products I had the chance to test. The prices are non cheap but we have to consider how problematic it is to create good quality and long lasting products with a nice pigmentation without adding any artificial or chemical element. This brand does not only cares about our beauty but also about the health of our skin and, more important, about the environment. Considering that the packaging is totally recyclable, it is also very well-finished and feminine. These products are sold by Italian drugstores.

Ritorno dopo un anno

Ciao ragazze, è passato un anno dal mio ultimo post. E' stato un anno di incertezza lavorativa con impegni di diverso genere. La situazione non è cambiata molto, ma mi sono ricordata di quanto mi piacesse scrivere sul blog e ricevere i vostri commenti.

Lo so che la mia presenza sul blog è stata un po' incostante, ma è sempre stata legata alle mie situazioni lavorative e, detta banalmente, alla "ricerca della mia strada". Quella strada ancora non l'ho trovata ma spero che questo blog mi accompagni nella mia ricerca. Se anche voi vorrete accompagnarmi e tornare/continuare a seguirmi, ve la dico all'inglese... STAY TUNED!!! ;)

Ve la dico all'inglese perché vorrei introdurre una novità... ovvero la doppia lingua. Il mio blog sarà scritto in inglese e in italiano così da mettere a frutto i miei studi e da non perdere l'allenamento con la lingua, oltre a (si spera) rendere comprensibile i miei post anche ai non italofoni.

Con un po' di fortuna (e di risparmi) riuscirò anche ad acquistare una nuova fotocamera perché, diciamocelo, le foto non erano il mio punto forte.
